The History Of Coats 4 Christmas:

Coats 4 Christmas began when Jim Goddard, Director at Goddard Dunbar & Associates, was driving to work one cold morning. He thought about how bitter it felt and wondered what life would be like without a warm coat. As soon as he arrived at the office, he went straight to the Marketing Department and suggested launching a charity campaign called Coats 4 Christmas where we, alongside our business friends, could collect warm winter coats for local homeless charities.

This conversation happened on November 10th, hard to believe - the Marketing team immediately got to work, pulling the campaign together in record time. The following year, with so many people that had helped in the first, it was an easy decision to run it again.

Now, in 2025, we’re proud to be entering our third year. And this time, we’re taking it to the next level; Coats 4 Christmas is becoming an organisation in its own right founded and supported by Goddard Dunbar, but with its own identity and growing mission to help even more people in need.

Our mission at Coats for Christmas Charity is clear and impactful: to deliver warmth and hope through the provision of winter coats. We firmly believe that everyone, regardless of their circumstances, deserves to stay warm and protected during the cold season. By sourcing and distributing coats of exceptional quality, we aim to redefine the way people experience and cope with winter, offering not just outerwear, but a sense of dignity and support.
